“I don’t like it. It could be a trap,” Tarek growled from the doorway.

Idella was packing again. This time it was because her persona as an international singer was needed. When she was first offered a gig headlining in Dima, the Simdan capital, for Sheikh Zulfirquar Kaffir’s special event, all she felt was revulsion. She knew more about Kaffir than he realized, including the connection between the tyrannical warlord and his foreign supporters—which was exactly why she was going. Her band and crew would meet her there. She was dreading telling Raja about it.

“Of course it’s a trap,” she replied.

Tarek’s heated curses sent a shiver down Idella’s spine. She didn’t know if it was the idea of him being upset or the amount of passion in the words, but it definitely drew a physical response from her. Just before he wrapped his arms around her, she turned and sent him sprawling on the bed, caging him between her thighs.

They kissed passionately. With a quick movement, she suddenly found herself beneath his taut body. She ran her nails through his hair. He grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head with one hand. She gasped, rolling her hips under him.

“You know I love it when you….” She noticed his eyes blazing down at her with a combination of anger, fear, and desire, and she trailed off. The only sound was their heavy breaths. His gaze slid down to the gap in her shirt and her nipples pebbled and ached. She lightly tested the strength of his hold, and heat rushed through her when he kept her immobile.

“This isn’t a game, Idella. Kaffir is crazy. He murdered his brother and his brother’s family, including the women and children.”

“I can handle it, Tarek. I was made for this.”

Tarek groaned, nuzzling her cheek for a moment. “We both know that Anderson Coldhouse is there. What we don’t know is where Colin is.”

“A compound in Lithuania. Bronislav is in his mansion outside of Moscow. The one you need to worry about is Rashid al Hamid. He never left Jawahir.”

Tarek’s fingers tightened on her wrists and he shook his head. “How you know all of this is scary.”

She laughed and his eyes immediately moved back to her breasts. Idella bit her lip, feeling hot all over again. If she didn’t get out of here, she was going to miss her flight. He cupped her breast, thumbing her nipple.

“I need to leave,” she whispered on a moan of need. She arched into his hand and trembled.

He leaned forward, holding her gaze. “I’m coming with you,” he announced before kissing her breathless again.
